I am never sure about homeopathic medications because of the placebo effect. However, I have been taking them for about a month and the effect doesn't seem to be going away.

This medication makes me feel better and if I forget to take it, I notice the increased discomfort before I remember the pills--not the other way around, which would be more of a placebo situation.

The pills are easy to take. They are small and fit under the tongue easily and dissolve quickly. The bottles are small and easy to carry around. Even taking the full amount of 4 pills X 4 times a day, you still get more than 6 weeks supply in one order.

Serenity Carb Counter (App) newly tagged "health"

I took Serenity Carb Counter for a test drive on my computer before downloading it to my android phone. I read the negative reviews from those who had downloaded it on their Kindles, but it runs flawlessly on my phone - which is where I intend to use it, anyhow.

I am delighted to be able to count only carbs without having to sift through a lot of other nutritional data. The data base seems to be fairly extensive, and increasing as each user uses the "Manual Entry" feature (which is simple to use), thereby adding to the new item to the data base.

The interface is very user-friendly and uncomplicated, but there are 2 changes I would like to see in updates:

1 - As another reviewer stated, once you have entered an item in your daily journal, the only way to edit it is to delete the item and re-enter it. Since I'm transitioning from using Weight Watchers online point-tracking system (a program with which I've never been enthralled), I miss this feature. I CAN get around it, however, by deleting and re-entering - it's just an extra step.

2 - I would like to see more choices in portion size. As an example: I ate 2 prunes (stewed w/o sugar) this morning. There were many options available, but none exactly suited my needs. "Plums, dried (prunes), stewed, without added sugar" was the obvious choice, but the serving size for that item is 1 cup, pitted. (Can you imagine where you'd be spending your day if you ate this much?) Fortunately, right below the serving size is an option to choose the number of servings consumed, the smallest being 1/4, and the largest being 10! The PROBLEM is that 2 stewed prunes fit nicely in an 1/8 cup measure, and I could fit 4 or 5 in a 1/4 cup measure, but I didn't eat 4 or 5, I only ate 2.

The program would not let me enter a portion less than 1/4 cup, so I would have to take into account that my Daily Journal displays more carbs than I've actually consumed. I made that entry and later deleted it.
I searched again for prunes and found an option for "Sunsweet Prunes". The Serving Size was "1 bag (3 prunes)". If only I was able to enter 2/3 as the number of servings consumed, it would have been accurate - and simple. Unfortunately, the options for number of servings consumed start out at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1.5....there is no option for 1/3 or 2/3, or as I complained about earlier, 1/8! So, I selected the 3/4 option since it was the closest to 2/3, but it still showed that I'd consumed more carbs than I had.
The GOOD NEWS is that there is also a simple solution to this problem, too (while we're waiting for the developer to add a couple nice upgrades), and that is for me to use the "Manual Entry" feature in which I select the portion size to coincide with the portion that I normally eat, or simply do it on a "per item" basis where the Serving Size would equal 1 prune (and I will have to enter the nutritional info for 1 prune - which I'm sure is readily available online), and then for "Servings Consumed", just enter "2". The "Manual Entry" feature only needs to be done once and the item is permanently added to the data base for all users. In fairness to this product, though, I admit I've had to make many manual additions to the WW program I used formerly, and it was a much bigger hassle. Also, I don't think those additions show up in the universal database for other users.

In conclusion, my opinion is that this app is quite user-friendly, overall, and will improve as the number of users increase, and as the developer tweaks the software (hint, hint, if you're the developer and are reading this). I haven't searched for any food that I was unable to find (yet), but I've only been using it for a short time. When and if that happens, I'll just add the food to the database.

If you need an app which focuses solely on counting carbs, and not calories, WW points, exercise, this is it. It's well worth the minuscule price being charged here. I was paying $56.85 every 3 months for my online subscription to Weight Watchers and could only count points, not carbs by themselves. I'm cancelling my WW subscription to e-tools, and I've already uninstalled all the other free apps I tried before purchasing Serenity Carb Counter. I highly recommend it!

I don't really care if protein powders taste good at all, I'm drinking them for a purpose.

However, this stuff is almost like a vanilla milkshake if you blend it, I use almond milk for this and it's actually pretty enjoyable.


If you've tried protein powders that have tasted like chalk, this doesn't. (Use a blender though, does not dissolve that well with spoon only. I expected this.)
